Life in hyperbole. HYPERBOLE, I said!

A masterpiece of suck

I accidentally discovered today that the first "website" I ever designed is still up.

It was a library school assignment, in 1999, and Netscape 4.6 was cutting edge. I'm pretty sure I intended the site to best fit a 640x480 screen resolution, because it doesn't do so well on my 22" widescreen 1680 x 1050 monitor:

A terrible, no-good very bad LIBR 500 website.

Your terrible, no-good, very bad first website is at least 500 times better than my terrible, no-good, very bad first website.

It's actually not that bad. I'm not saying its great, but given the era in which it was designed, it is incredibly sleek. I'm sure you were (at the time) docked marks for your minimalist design (where's the colourful background, and the dancing animated GIF???)

there's a spinning animated GIF, at least.

Dewd, for a first site...now worries there. The only thing is, where's the 90's <blink>bling</blink>?

    Hi Peter!

I got an email from Miss Shelly about your webpage, so I thought I would have a little read. I have to say, I think you're quite brilliant and I only wish my writing flowed half as well as yours. You have such a gentle fluidity with your words and mine are like a violent projection. I've only just recently decided that I think I'd like to put my educational path on the English track as opposed to this bumpy Psych track I've been on, but I think I have a ways to go!

So how have you been? Ok, I realize this is for comments, not an epic email, so I'll end this and if you get a chance, email me sometime at NikkiJ@shaw.ca and you can check out my own (warning: shameful plug ahead) website at www.NikkiJeannotte.com for my insane ramblings. It is fun though! Hope you're well!

    Take care, Nik
