Life in hyperbole. HYPERBOLE, I said!

Shifting boundaries of the Sahara

Yesterday the temperature in the shade reached 32 C. Inside the house it was a breezy 30. This is NOT Victoria. Victoria is temperate. We're in a temperate zone, which my taxes helped pay for.

If only I had not lost the lamp, I would command the jinni to whisk the entire palace to Antarctica. Or at least fetch me a bag of frozen peas I could drop down my shorts.

Well, it's a good thing you're on your way to the Yukon, where the climate really is temperate. (And sometimes temperamental.)

Fawn, I'm looking forward to it, but I have this thing about MOSQUITOES. Anything I can do to avoid them, apart from draining my blood into freezer bags before I go?

They're not attracted to your blood, they're attracted by carbon dioxide. So it's very easy to avoid mosquitoes simply by arresting respiration.

All kidding aside, the mosquitoes aren't too bad right now around Whitehorse, so we'll keep our fingers crossed that things will stay that way. You can always use repellent, and we also have bug jackets if they really drive you batty.

If all else fails, there are lots of great museums to see in Whitehorse. ;)
